Broadway Buzz! Pre-Show Talks
Pre-Show Talks begin one hour prior to each performance of BIG RIVER November 30-December 12, Kennedy’s

We are delighted to welcome a new member, William Allman, to our wonderful roster of Broadway Buzz! hosts. Bill boasts a theater history almost as long as the Mississippi River. A World War II veteran and graduate of Heidelberg College, Bill later received his Masters Degree in Theater and Speech from Ohio University. As the Director of Drama at Baldwin Wallace College, Bill taught theater, film and speech for 42 years. In 1957, he founded Berea Summer Theatre and served as its managing director for 40 years.

A past president of Ohio Community Theatre Association and Ohio Theatre Alliance and past secretary of the National Theatre Association, Bill received numerous local awards recognizing his contributions and achievements. Although he retired from Baldwin Wallace College in 1998, he currently teaches at Cuyahoga Community College and directs several shows a year for local community theatre companies and the Berea Grindstone Players, which he helped organize in 2002.

Over the years, Bill has had the opportunity to work on this great musical and we are sure you will enjoy your Big River journey with him.

American Sign Language is an integral part of this glorious revival of Big River. With that in mind, Mr. Allman’s Pre-Show Talks and our Post-Show Chats with the Cast will be interpreted for our audiences. And, you may recognize the gentlemen who will sign these events - Larry Nehring, of I Love You You’re Perfect Now Change fame, has been based in Cleveland for ten years and is Artistic Director of the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival. He has also been seen onstage in The Chosen (JCC), Man of La Mancha (CCC West), and Waiting for Godot (Charenton). Regionally he has performed with the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival (Hamlet, Love’s Labor’s Lost, and Taming of the Shrew), Buffalo’s Shakespeare in Delaware Park (Much Ado About Nothing and King Lear), and Columbus’ CATCO (Three days of Rain).
